One of the biggest reasons many people play golf is for the social aspect of the game. Despite the difficulty of golf, the social aspect of the sport has become a popular part of the game no matter a person’s level, with many players taking up golf to play with friends and meet new people. Alongside being a great way to catch up with friends, the social aspect of golf can also help push players to improve their overall game. A bit of friendly competition is a great way to test your skills and see where you need to improve. One of the benefits of Indoor Golf is that you can easily set up challenges to play with friends with a few clicks of a button. Here are 4 indoor golf challenges to try.

Driving Contest

One of the oldest and most played challenges, the driving contest allows golfers to showcase their swing speed and club face control. The contest is simple: who can hit the furthest or who can hit the straightest. Playing this contest on a virtual golf simulation makes the challenge a lot more accurate, as you can see the precise distance and ball direction of each drive. While a fun competition, it is also a good time to evaluate your driver swing and see how you can improve it.

Closest to the Pin

Set up the virtual driving range so that you are within range of your irons. The challenge is very simple: the player who hits the ball closest to the pin wins. You can make the game more challenging by only letting players use the same golf club, e.g., just 7-irons. Using FSX 2020, players can go to the compete option, select games, and then choose the closest to the pin option. The software also allows users to play this game on a par 3 course, which adds an extra level of difficulty. This is one of the most effective ways to improve your iron accuracy with your friends.

Virtual Golf Games

Alongside the closest to the pin, there are a variety of other games you can play using virtual golf software. Two popular games on FSX 2020 are Glass Break and Footgolf. Break the Glass challenges players to break as many panels of glass in a virtual greenhouse as possible within a 30-second time frame. Each plane of glass is worth 100 points, and the need for accuracy becomes greater as you break more panels. Footgolf is where you play on a golf course using a soccer ball and your feet instead of your clubs. With the holes on the greens being much bigger and the likelihood that most people have kicked a soccer ball in their life, this is a great way to introduce new players to golf.

Play a Course

The ultimate challenge is to play a full 9-hole or 18-hole course on the virtual golf simulator. Using the FSX 2020 software that we use at both Golf X locations, players can choose from a wide variety of world-famous golf courses. From the St Andrews Old Course in Scotland to the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, you can challenge yourself on some of the top courses in the world. You can make each course more challenging by changing the weather conditions and the time of the day you play. You can even have the option to create the ultimate golf course using the custom mode, where you can create your own custom course with holes from individual courses. If playing in a group of at least four, you can choose to play the scramble option. This is where all players on a team hit a shot, and you continue with the best shot until the ball is holed. Playing an indoor course is a great way to experience what it is like to play on an actual fairway and challenge your friends while also enjoying the social aspect of golf (without the need for so much walking).
